Job Description

We are working in partnership to recruit a Technical Support Officer for a Sheffield based technology services company.

This is a permanent full time Monday to Friday role.  The position is hybrid, with certain days in the office and others working from home.

Reporting to an experienced Manager and in a team environment, as Technical Support Officer, you will be liaising with internal and external customers regarding IT issues.  Any necessary training will be provided. 

We seek a candidate who has good IT skills and experience and is also passionate about supporting customers with their IT issues.

Key Duties and Attributes:

  • Support of internal business software systems across the division, i.e. Netsuite, webshop, etc

  • Technical Support – TQSoft, IPReports, Securilog, VE Website over the telephone and remote access - training provided

  • Divisional quotes & responding to certain sales enquiries and order processing where necessary

  • Establish effective, professional and positive working relationships with colleagues

  • To make Line Manager aware of personal and professional development needs

  • Attend staff meetings as required

  • Handle confidential information with due care and maintain confidentiality

  • Competent in Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc)

  • Competent in installing software and new devices in Windows

  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues by following logical procedures

  • Comfortable with learning new software applications

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • A willingness to develop new skills

  • Approachable, trustworthy and reliable

  • Able to work as part of a team or as an individual

  • Self-motivated and ability to manage oneself

  • Any coding (especially Visual Basic) or HTML skills an advantage but not a requirement

  • Prior experience of support via telephone assisting and growing relationships with clients
